Matthew 5:14-16

Jesus calls His followers to three simple truths when it comes to doing good in our broken world.
Truth #1: Shine
You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. – Matthew 5:14-15 (ESV)
Truth #2: Serve
In the same way, let your light shine before others so that they may see your good works… – Matthew 5:16 (ESV)
Truth #3: Share
In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven. – Matthew 5:16 (ESV)
“Preach the gospel at all times. Use words If necessary.”
Remember “Gospel” = good news
Don’t stop short at simply doing good without sharing the good news!
How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching? – Romans 10:14 (ESV)
