The Joy of Being Included

The Joy of Being Included

 (Luke 2:1-20, Psalm 2)

Although Christmas time is stressful, it can also be joyful. You just need to know where to look.

Jesus offers us the joy being included (Luke 2:1-12)

  1.  Those with power must realize that they have a temporary stewardship that fits into God’s larger story. (Luke 2:1-7, Psalm 2:1-6, 10-11)
  2. God doesn’t need to use the powerful in order for His will to be established (Luke 2:4-8).
  • God used the obedience of one simple family (2:4-8)
  • God choose to reveal his glorious plan to shepherds (2:8-18)
  • Shepherds near Bethlehem:
  • Raised sheep for the Temple
  • But were prohibited from taking part in the Temple activities.

God didn’t reveal his plan to the temple or the palace. God revealed his plan to the shepherds.

Christmas reminds us that even those on the outside are invited to be a part of what God is doing.

Here’s the Joy

You are invited to be a play a part in God’s global plan.
